Windows SharePoint Services

Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) is a free platform that is available as an add-on to Windows 2003 and will be (is) part of Windows 2008.  WSS is in the 3rd version (3.0) and is the foundation upon which many other products are built, such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Project Server, and a variety of other products as well.
