Document Information Panel

The Document Information Panel is a key component used to integrate Office Documents like Word with SharePoint. You can even customize the Document Information Panel for Document Content Types in SharePoint using Infopath to create a more robust interface for your users to enter MetaData.

Site Settings > Site Content Type Gallery > Site Content Type > Document Information Panel Settings
