I recently stumbled across an issue with using business data columns in MOSS lists that was preventing me from being able to update a very large and very out-of-date list using Business Data Catolog (BDC) data.   Here are some things to keep in mind when working with the BDC and business data columns: Business data columns in lists DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY SYNCH with the underlying BDC Entity providing the values for the column.  You probably knew this already.  If not, know it now ;) If a value used by a business data column ceases to exist in the underlying BDC Entity you will be confronted with two unpleasant scenarios: You cannot refresh the list using the OOTB functionality to update the business data column. You cannot edit any list items using the non-existent value without choosing a different value and saving the list item. A more obscure issue is that if you attempt to move list items using a business data column via...

I'm stuck in an SP Designer worfklow and going crazy.   I have an InfoPath form with a boolean field saving the form to the form library.  In InfoPath, the boolean choices are either "TRUE/FALSE" or "0/1".  I have a MOSS list with a Yes/No field.   I want my workflow to read...

I am setting up our first SSP and in the "Index Server" section it says I am missing "indexers". When I went to go start the Indexing service it was missing. How do I get "Office SharePoint Server Search" installed/back? I did not perform the install on this box.

I've been setting up some emails to our site but when I try and setup email on a list I've created in one of my sites the option isn't available to me. It works fine in the libraries, but not the lists. Anyone have any idea? I found this on here, but it wasn't much help: "Configure i...

I set up the Site Usage Summary function in SharePoint 2007, which we use for our intranet.  It was working perfectly.  We had a need to move the SQL Server files overe to a new instance of SQL Server, however, and after that move, the reporting stopped working.   Does anyone have a checklist or ...

My boss setup our sharepoint server. When i logged on and try to go the central admin. I get a error "Service Unavailable" HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. What could be wrong? From what I was reading on the web yesterday it could be the application pool? Cheers
